A quick rambling introduction to this blog. Be welcome.
I’ve always liked to do things with my hands. Mainly building stuff out of wood and whatnot, much like any boy building tree houses. In elementary school I was always building something – both physical gadgets as well as computer games. Somehow I managed to regress back to that state and I’m now, at the end of my thirties, back in developing games, as well as starting some cool construction work. I just have more expensive tools now. 🙂
I’m not much into blogging, but I’ve got used to it in my company now. But while I’ve got a must-do building project for the coming year, which requires some level of documentation, I thought why not combine that with a pinch of humour and document also other handiwork I do.
If you press the widget wheel in the menu you can browse the projects I file these blog posts under. For now there’s only on, the “Half Nelson”, which is the story about a listed building on our yard which is being reconstructed this year. I intend to do most of the work myself. The name Half Nelson is a working title, I just made that up because our main house is called “Kuperkeikka”, which is “tumble”, or “forward roll” in Finnish.
As the title of the blog might reveal, there’s gonna be some power tool porn as well. And I might destroy stuff, and most likely document it in one way or another. No, I’m not sponsored by DeWALT, I just happened to buy a 5-in-1 box with tools I need for the Half Nelson job. I actually wanted Makita, but it did not take me long to realize that DeWALT is a-w-e-s-o-m-e.
And a hint for the future: I’ve got a GoPro HERO3+, which is accompanying me on the demolition and construction of the Half Nelson building. Both in FullHD and time-lapse mode…
